Maasika Shradam Puja

The death of a loved one/relative is always hard. To honor the sacred cycle of birth and death, it is the relative (usually the son) to hold a puja wishing the dead a safe journey to the afterlife. This puja is known as Maasika Shradam Puja. This ceremony is performed on the 27th, 30th, 45th, 60th, 90th, 171st, 180th, 210th, 240th, and 270th Day in a year and usually takes around half a day (lengths vary based on availability).
